1) Why were colonists angry at those trying to steal the tea to take home with them?
2) Imagine that you had decided to take part in the Boston Tea Party. What would your thoughts be as you were dumping tea into the harbor?
3) On a scale of 1-10, how dangerous do you think The Boston Tea Party was? Give an example of why you think that.

1)The colonists were probably angry because it was being disloyal, and being a hypocrite. If you were going to be at the Boston Tea Party it was to get rid of the tea in revenge of the British tea Act, not to take advantage of it. For the colonists to be taking tea is show dishonesty and loyalty, and it wasn't what the other men were standing up to.
2) If I were in the Boston Tea Party I would have felt a bit greedy and mean. I would have probably wanted to get rid of the tea, and make the British mad. I would be supporting the other's who joined, and I would be making a mess.
3) I think it was an 8. Since the Militia and any loyal soldiers could have come armed and shot them all, or arrested them, or have them hanged. Although, the British didn't act quickly so most of the supporter's wouldn't have been caught. The King of
England could have also got very furious and could have done and kill every colonist if he wanted to.
1. I think the colonists were angry at those who tried to steal the tea and take it home during the Boston Tea Party simply because you're taking advantage of the boycott against British rule in order for your benefit and to gain tea. Another reason why colonists would be mad is because it's disloyal; by taking tea during the Tea Party, you're not really "loyal" to your King or loyal to your people who are fighting for independence.
2. If i were to be in the Boston Tea Party and was throwing barrels of tea overboard i would feel good because i know I'm doing it for my own and others independence and separation from the British crown.
3. I think the Boston Tea Party was very dangerous. I know it seems like a stupid and little act to throw tea overboard but this tea is the main profit that the British have, so you're basically throwing money away and you risk being tarred or maybe even killed.
1)Colonists were probably angry because its defeating the purpose of the Boston Tea Party. It was a Patriotic event, not a Loyalist event.
2)If I was part of the Boston Tea Party, I wouldn't be thinking at all. I would probably have fun getting rid of the tea and if I were to have thoughts go through my head, I wouldn't think there is anything wrong with what is being done.
3)I would say an 8 because it was very dangerous, but come on. Yes, people could have gotten caught, people could have been killed, but to me it seemed that the colonists had their adrenaline pumping, they weren't worried. Tossing tea wasn't the worst thing that could have happened, they could have killed king, that would be worse.
Shirley and Chloe's answers for number 2 makes sense because that's the whole idea was to make Britain mad and feel good about it.
1.Beacuse it would be disloyal to the the rest of the colonists who were there to get rid of the tea to get back at the british for establishing the tea act.
2.If i were at the Boston tea party dumping tea into the harbor, i would mostly feel good about myself knowing that im hepling to get the colonist freedom from the british.
3.I would say like a 7 because tea was an important good to the british and if you were caught you could be sentenced to prison or even death.
juliano's answer for number 1 was good beacuse the fact that it was a patriotic event and most of the colonists were patriotic
I think Chloe made a good point for number three. The colonists were angry and decided to throw imported tea into the sea, and make sure none of it was saved. They were throwing away a lot of money, risking the lives, and until this day I don't think we've payed for the tea party destruction.
1. The colonist were angry at those trying to steal the tea to take home with them beacuse it was cruel and disloyal.
2. If i was part of the Boston Tea Party, i would also be throwing barrels of tea into the harbor. my thoughts will be if i was doing the right thing in dumping gallons of tea into the harbor, or was it the wrong thing to do?
3. i will say 7 beacuse the Boston Tea Party was very dangerous and the people throwing the tea into the harbor could have gotten caught or killed. Yet, throwing tea into the harbor is not the most cruelest thing any man could have done.
Chloe answer to number two is good, as well as Shirley. Both got the whole idea in getting the British mad by throwing barrels of tea into the harbor.
Juliano made a good point in question #1 by comparing the event with Patriotic amd Loyalist event.
1) I think that the colonist were possibly angry because they thought the by going to the Boston tea party that you were a disloyal person and by goin9g there these people were going against the British tea act which meant that these people were betraying the people that were fighting to end the tax on tea.
2) I would feel really bad wasting all that tea that the country could use and I would feel kind of dumb throwing all that tea for no reason. I also would feel like a trader because I would be betraying my country and the people that support the tea act.
3) I would probably rate it as a 6 because since the British really didn’t do anything and most of them died but since they were not that dumb and later they won the war between the countries.
I think that Shirley made a great point when she said that that by throwing the tea to the water. It would be greedy doing that because we are wasting all that tea.
1. the colonists were angry at those stealing the tea because its just not right to steal tea during the Tea Party.
2. If i took part in the Boston Tea Party i just would do whatever i would feel like doin and it would make me feel better about throwing the tea into the harbor.
3.i believed that it is an 10 because of them throwing the tea to the sea it was very dangrous becaause it could cause anger to people and they could be killed also they would be wasting there money like chloe said..
shirley and chloe have great opinions on question number 2...because its not right to be spending there money that way.
1.Colonists were angry at those trying to steal the tea to take it home with them because they were being disrespectful and disloyal. You werent suppose to go there it and steal it.
Why were colonists angry at those trying to steal the tea to take home with them?
2. My thoughts to dumping the tea in the harbor would be good and excited because im doing this for my people and our independence, not for anyone else.
3.I think it was about an 8. It was dangerous because we threw Britain's main profit into the harbor. This could of caused many deaths and anger.
Juliano's answer for number two was just like mine. I would feel good about it as well because I know I was doing it for my people and our independence.
1. The colonists were angered at those trying to steal the tea because the plan of the Boston Tea Party was to dump the tea into the harbor so they could prove a point about being taxed. It angered some because they took advantage of the situation and stole the tea which defeated the purpose of dumping it into the harbor.
2) I would probably feel liberated because I'd be standing up for my rights and my beliefs, but at the same time I would be wondering what the repercussions would be when the British find out.
3) The Boston Tea Party was a very risky and dangerous act. On a scale of one to ten it would probably be about a seven. The people that were dumping the tea could've have gotten caught in the act; probably resulting in death or some severe punishment. The BTP also took place during the middle of the night, so somebody could've stumbled into the river without being noticed or being able to be saved.
Hahaa, i like what Brandon said about #3, about the Botston Tea Party being at midnight and if someone fell into the ocean they wouldn't be saved.
So i think it wouldn't be on the scale 1-10 as a 7. I think it's more of a 10 becuase not just what Brandon said about falling into the ocean, but the British had armed ships there. Luckily they made no attempt to stop the colonist, but imagine if they had fired at Griffin's wharf.
Chloe made a really good point when she said that, "it was risky because they were throwing money away." I don't think at first hand people realize how much money was lost, so I think it was good that she made a point of that.
I also like the fact that Juliano pointed out which colonist sides took place, because I never really thought about that, until he mentioned it.
1) The colonist were most likely angry at the people trying to steal the tea because it made it seem like they went only to take tea, instead of going to help boycott. The colonist probaly felt stabbed in the back knowing that these people are trying to take tea that colonist are trying to get rid of as a sign of protest.
2) If i were taking part in the Boston Tea Party i would of felt bad, but yet proud because im taking action in something that will help the boycott going on. I myself wouldn't have liked the boycott, so why just stand around and let it keep on. I would want to take my stand and fight for whats right.
3) I would give it a 7 and a half because yea it was dangerous but the colonist knew what they were doing and didnt hold back. The could of been caught, shot, or arrested but they probally would of felt pride knowing they got one of those consequences doing what was right.
1- Well for one, colonists would be very upset becuase you would be showing them that you are disloyal to your new country, and that you're taking advantage of all this tea being thrown away infront of you, and think 'hey why not take some for me.'
second, it wasn't why the colonists decided to throw the tea into the ocean. Like Shirley said, they threw it in the ocean to get revenge from Britain for the laws that they put upon the colonies.
Or like what Gino said, it was a patriotic event, not a loyalists' event.
Ashley, your answer for number three is a good one, but the colonist knew the consequences they would face if caught, but that didn't stop them. They fought for what they believed was right and succeeded.
If i was part of the Boston Tea Party dumping and throwing all that tea away, I think I would be thinking about the reasons why I am dumping tes over board:
1- i would feel good about it becuase i'm standing up for the rights i deserve, and the rights that we all deserve
2- i would want to make the british mad, for making our lives 'miserable', i guess, or in other words fort axing us and picking money out of everyones pockets
3- then afterward i would have a bit of guilt becuase alot of tea was dumped into the ocean.
1)I think the colonists were angry at those trying to steal because they trying to get revenge so if you stole some, you were being disloyal.
2)If I had taken part in the Tea Party, I would be proud because now the British would take us seriously. They would understand that we're mad and willing to stand up for our rights.
3) I would say 8 because tea was a main product for the British so when it was all dumped, they lost a lot. Plus they knew that the British would be furious. If you were in it, you probably would have been put to jail for a really long time or killed right away.
Chloe made a good point on number 3 because now the British lost even more money so they must have wanted to killed the people responsible for this.
they were angry because the point of of this was to get rid of the tea against the British. their also showing that their not with the Colonist and that their unloyal.
I would be feeling excited but nervous at the same time because if your protesting against the British but if they catch you your a dead man.
I would say a 9 because the Briish really loved their tea, and the colonist were risking thier lives tricking the British then throwing away their tea.
sonia makeaa good point on number three because it was a dangerous task
1) The colonists were probably angry because they had organized this big event to make a mark on the British taxation and people were coming to take the tea away which was not really a strong demonstartion in thier eyes compared to throwing the tea in the harbor.
2)If I In the Boston Tea party i would have probably taken all of the extra tea for myself in staed making a waste.
3)I would give it a seven because it displayed a strong protest to British rule, but did not really make any difference.
I agree with jelani because he gave a good reason for the event.
1.| The colonist would most likely be angry at the anyone who'd be trying to steal tea during the Boston Tea Party, because its hypocritical. The point of the tea party was to boycott the British Tea Act and show the British that the colonists didn't want British tea, not to steal it. It'd be disloyal to what they were fighting for.
2.| If i were in the Boston Tea Party, I'd feel really proud & probably be thinking about what a big difference I'd be making that night.
3.| I think it's like, a 7 because it was pretty dangerous., but then again they were dressed as Native Americans, so really the only danger was if they got caught.
I think Jessica's answer to number one is right on it, like Shirley's, 'cause the colonists knew what they were supposed to do, so taking tea would be disloyal to their beliefs.
1.in my opinion, colonists were really angry because of tea party. they missed the true meaning of the teaparty that they had to have, that is why it was really bad.
2. if i was in the tea party, i will probably show the anger. because it is not making any sense to me.
3. i think it is really dangerous to have at that moment, because it can not be make any sense when they got kill from that moment.
