1) They are similar because it is stated that men are born free and remain free. I dont really kno how they are different...

3)Provision 13 is included because it helps manage public forces and the administration.
4)In the social contract it also says that men are born free just as provision 1. It also mentions natural rights just as provision 2 and 4.

Freedom consist of the liberty to do everything which injures no one else.
3) the author included provision 13 because it help maintaned the public forces and the cost of administration.
4) the fact that men are born free and that there are natural rights, are both mention in The Social Contract and A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. Its on provisions 1,2,4.
1) The waty that there are similar is that they both state that all men have equal natural rights and that everyone is born free.
2) -Men are norn free and remain free with equal rights.
-No one shall recieve punishments that are strictl and not necessary.
-All persons are held innoncent until declared guilty.
3) It was included because it helped find a way to manage the cost of administration and maintenance of the public forces.
4) In the Social Contract, they say that a persons physical force is what leads them into not having a right or that their force as nothing to do with their rights and its just a waste of time. And in A Declaration of The Rights of Man, provision 13 talkes about manitaing public forces along with otther things.
1) Compare and contrast the Declaration of Independence and A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. How are they different? How are they similar?
The declaration of Independence was mainly about the colonist writing and accusing the king of being a fraud, tyrant, and a horrible cruel ruler. In that document the colonists stated that they wanted a new type of government that had, liberty, justice and equality for all. Although, every men were not equal, and some laws weren’t fair for all, especially to colored people, and women still weren’t noticed. In the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the citizens, it to states liberty, but also property, security, and resistance oppression, but women still weren’t part of these new sets of laws and “equality”.
2) Make a list of some of the main ideas from the A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.
Liberty, property, security and resistance to oppression, guarantees citizens equal rights, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion.
3) Why do you think the author(s) included provision 13?
To get people to donate money and give contributions for everyone’s good, and to pay of tax debt.
4) What ideas from The Social Contract are prevalent in A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen? Mention specific provisions.
In the social contract it states that men are born free, and in the declaration of the rights of man of the citizens it mentioned, liberty, justice and freedom to men. Although pay attention that it says men, not to the people, and even if it did say that, women still wouldn’t apply for those rights and justices as the men do.
1) These two declaration are similar because every man is born free. They are different because the declaration of independence well I think that it only talks about liberty and how people's rights were taken always little by little. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen talks about how certain people have rights and how no one should be put in to jail without evidence to prove that they are guilty.
2)-Men are born and remain free and equal in rights.
-Law is the expression of the general will
-No person shall be accused or arrested without any proof of crime
-Resistance to oppression
3) I think that the author include provision 13 because he thought that forces should be shared equality shared with all the citizens.
4) It talks about how all men are born free. It also repeats it on provision 2 and 4
1) they both have to say that the men are free and will always be.
2)men are born and remain free, liberty to do anything that doesnt harm, rights of liberty, property, security and resistance, free communications of ideas and opinions.
3) it helped manage the cost of administration and public forces.
4)in provision one born are also born free same as A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.
Stacy Heliotis
1- The Declaration of Independence focused on the Government and limitations on the government. In the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen mostly included the rights that every citizen deserved. Both of these documents were based off freedom of speech and freedom for man.
2-That the National Assembly recognized the rights of the common citizens as well as upper class. The National Assembly says all men are born free and born equal. Also laws could only prohibit actions which hurt society.
3-Provision 13 was included because of equal treatment for not only citizens, but as well as armed forces and maintenance. Therefore, citizens contributed within their means to them.
4- In provision 6, it says Law is the expression of the general will. Also in the Social Contract, says force is a physical power, and is an act of necessity not of will. Provision 6 is contradicted in The Social Contract because it says the law can be expressed by your will, but you’re forced to surrender to the law. Forced is a word that someone is doing something against their free wills, which also goes against provision 6.
1. The Declaration of Independence is more about the laws and rights a person has. The Declaration of Man and of the Citizen states about rights to property, security, and liberty. Both are mainly talking about all man are born free and will remain free.
2.
-Born free and will remain free.
Men are born and remain free and equal in rights.
-Rights to liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.
-No person shall be accused or arrested without any proof of crime.
3. It was included to manage the cost of administration and maintenance of the public forces.
4. states that men are born free as in provision 1. Also mentions natural rights as in provision 2 and 4.
1)The Declaration of Independence was a document the colonists wrote accusing the king of being a tyrant In it, the colonists wrote that since the king had failed to serve his people the way a government should, the people had the right to break free from it.
In the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizens, it doesnt say that the frech want to break FREE of their government, they just want to fix it
They both have some of the same ideas though. They both approve of liberty & equality.
2)-Liberty
-property
-security
-resistance to oppression
-freedom of religion
-equality.
3)they included it in there 'cause it managed the prices of administration and the public forces.
4)In Provision 1 it says that all men are born equal and free, just as in A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.
I think Stacy's point of view on the french revolutionary ideas, supports mines, because i think that women were isolated and not noticed, and they made all these laws that applied to men, just how the colonists made laws that applied for white people only.
1. They are similar because they state that all men are born free. They are different because the declaration of independence states rights that refer to all men and the declaration of the rights of men goes more for rights to just certain people.
2.
-equality
-men are born free
-everyone is innocent until proven guilty
3. It maintaned public forces and the cost of administrations.
4. it is stated that all men are born equal in provision one as it does in the declaration of the men and citizens
I think that Stacy is right about how there was equal treatment for not only the citizens, but also the armed forces.
Stacy is right about her answer because i ignored the fact that citizens have equal treatments as well as the armed forces.
1. They are similar by all saying about the right of men and they should have equal rights no matter if thry are rich or poor. Both documents have articles in them. The difference is, they declaration of independence was written in the United States and a declaration of the rights of man and of citizen was written in France.
2. Some of the main ideas were
-men are born free.
-all men should have equal right.
-Liberty.
-Social rights.
3. The author included provision 13 becauseits their right to make their community clean provide for the armies. Also to contribute in money to pay of their debts.
4. In the social contract it say that a man is born free and in the provision one of a declaration of the rights of man and of the citizen says men are born free and have equal rights.
1. They are similar because they hold the idea of equality for all people, and i dont know how they are different.
2. -Men are born free and remain free with equal rights.
-No one shall recieve punishments that are strictl and not necessary.
-All persons are held innoncent until declared guilty.
3. For the payment of national debt.
4. It says men in both and does not guarantee rights to women.
Stacy's point is support by me because all it talks about was the right of men and they left women out.
1. They are both similiar because they both stated that men were born free and are still free today.
2. Freedom of Speech, and Religion, liberty, property and equal rights among everyone.
3. I think because they wanted people to donate a little bit of money to help out and also be invovlved.
4. It states that men are both free in provision one.
I agree both with Angel and Julie with number 4. They, as well both agreed that men were free in provision 1.
1)the same thing, they think all the man was born free, and they think all the humans are born equal. however, the difference was the tax. those who was in the high position, they do not need to tax, however, all man has to equal tax.
2).Born free and will remain free.
.Born free and will remain free.
.Rights to liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.
-No person shall be accused or arrested without any proof of crime.
3)for everyone can pay the tax, and use the tax wisely.
4)i think it is talking about 2and 4, because it is about the people born free.
Again, i believe Stacy did very well, and July did very good as well.
1) Differences: taxes are equal, right to bear arms, rights of citizens.
Similarities: freedom of speech, all men born free, freedom of religion, freedom of press.
2) Main ideas: all men are born free, all persons are innocent until proven guilty, and citizens have freedom of speech, religion, and press.
3) I think the authors included provision 13 because it would help pay off debt and any other beneficial costs that may have been needed.
4) The Social Contract states that all men are created equal, just as it does in A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen (provision one).
I like that Ashley included the fact that provision 13 was included by the authors because they wanted people to be involved and help out with their country.
Declaration of Independence:
-a way of limiting the control of the government and having the people run it through a republic
-it accused the king for being a tyrant
-introduced the principles of equality of all man, but yet women were not inlcuded, nor were African Americans.
-citizens can bare arms
A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen:
-states liberty, but also property, security, and resistance oppression.
-it was a wat ro fix the government not break away from it, like ximena said.
-the rights that are presented in the french declaration apply to certain people
They both share the idea of equality and liberty. They both have the freedoms of speech, press, religion and trial for crimes.
List of ideas from A Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen:
-Liberty, property, and security
-resistance to oppression
-freedom of religion, press and speech
-innocent until proven guilty
-born free and will remain free
Provision 13 was included becuase through it people would donate money. the money would benefit the people, and it would pay off taxes. It would also manage public force and the administration.
I'm alittle confused on what the quesdtion is asking about the Social Contract & Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.
